About OpenHouse

OpenHouse is an iOS and iPadOS app that helps real estate agents capture and manage open house visitor information. This policy explains what data the app handles and how it is stored. Visitor and event data stays on the agent’s device unless the agent explicitly exports it. There is no OpenHouse backend for storing visitor records, no advertising, and no sale of personal information.

Data captured during an open house

When a visitor signs in at an open house event, the hosting agent’s device may collect:

  • Name, email address, and optional phone number.
  • Property interest, timeframe, financing status, and responses to qualifying questions.
  • Disclosure acknowledgement and signature when enabled by the hosting agent.

How visitor data is stored

  • Stored locally on the agent’s device in an encrypted SQLite database protected by iOS Data Protection.
  • Not transmitted to an OpenHouse server.
  • Not synced across devices by OpenHouse.
  • Leaves the device only when the agent deliberately exports it.
  • The app does not use advertising identifiers or sell personal information.

Exports

Data only leaves the device when the agent explicitly exports it through CSV, PDF, email, iOS Contacts, iOS Calendar, or other user-selected sharing destinations. The agent controls when, how, and to whom data is shared.

Subscriptions and purchases

OpenHouse subscriptions are purchased through the App Store. Apple processes payments and manages subscription status. The app uses Superwall to present subscription paywalls and sync Pro entitlement status. Superwall and Apple may process purchase-related information needed to complete purchases, restore subscriptions, and keep Pro features unlocked.

Data controller

The real estate agent who hosts the open house event and collects visitor information is the data controller for guest personal information. OpenHouse is the tool used to capture that data. The agent is responsible for disclosures, local legal compliance, data access requests, and deletion requests for visitor records.

Requesting data deletion

If you signed in at an open house and want your information deleted, contact the real estate agent who hosted the event. Since visitor data is stored locally on the agent’s device, only the agent can remove that visitor record.

California privacy rights

OpenHouse does not sell or rent personal information. To exercise access, correction, or deletion rights for visitor information captured during an open house, contact the hosting agent who collected the information.

Children’s privacy

OpenHouse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
